Base Exemption: Standard homestead exemption reduces assessed value by up to $50,000.Surviving Spouse (Widow/Widower): Additional $5,000 exemption.Blind Persons: Additional $5,000 exemption.Total and Permanent Disability: Non-veterans may qualify for an additional $5,000. Quadriplegics or totally disabled individuals with low income may be fully exempt.Veterans with a service-connected disability of at least 10% get an additional $5,000 exemption. Veterans who are totally and permanently disabled due to service are 100% exempt from property taxes.
