Construction of Real Estate Properties: Spec homes are houses built before a buyer is found, based on the builder’s guess, or “speculation” that the design and features will be appealing enough for someone to want to buy them once they're finished. Tract Tomes are houses built in a planned development where buyers choose from a set of pre-designed floor plans and pick the lot where their home will be built. Custom Homes are houses designed and built to match the exact preferences and specifications of a particular buyer.
