Your first step will be to become a Sales Associate. To qualify, applicants must be at least 18 years of age and have earned a high school diploma or its equivalent GED. They must Possess a U.S. Social Security number, which is used to determine whether applicants are in compliance with child support obligations. They need to be Honest, trustworthy, and of good moral character. U.S. citizenship is not required, and applicants do not have to be Florida residents. Applicants must fully disclose if they are currently under investigation, have been convicted of a crime, or have ever entered a plea of guilty or “nolo contendere” (no contest), or guilty. This disclosure is required even if adjudication was withheld or the record was sealed or expunged. When applying for or renewing a real estate license, you are required to list any aliases or “also known as” (K/A) names you have used. This includes maiden names, nicknames, previous legal names, or any other names you have used in official documents. You must also disclose if you have ever been denied a license, had a license disciplined, or currently have disciplinary action pending in any other state or jurisdiction. This includes situations where a license was revoked, suspended, fined, placed on probation, or otherwise restricted.
