The interaction of these factors creates two distinct market types. A Seller's Market exists when demand exceeds supply; inventory is low, and buyers must compete, often leading to bidding wars and higher prices. A Buyer's Market occurs when supply exceeds demand; there are many homes for sale but few buyers, giving buyers the power to negotiate lower prices and better terms.
