Radon

Radon is a colorless, odorless, tasteless radioactive gas produced by the natural decay of uranium in the soil, rock, and water. It typically moves up through the ground and enters homes through cracks in the foundation or gaps around pipes. Radon is significant because it is the second leading cause of lung cancer in the United States. Testing is the only way to detect it, and if high levels are found, mitigation systems can be installed to vent the gas outside before it accumulates in the living space.
