FLORIDA REAL ESTATE SALES ASSOCIATE COURSE
Chapter 8
Section 21 of 41
Walk into any real estate office in America, and you should see a specific poster on the wall. It features a house logo with an equal sign inside it.The 1972 amendment to the Fair Housing Act requires brokers to display this HUD Equal Housing Opportunity Poster in all places of business. If a client files a discrimination complaint against you and HUD investigators see that the poster is missing, it is considered "prima facie" evidence of discrimination. The missing poster alone is enough evidence for the judge to assume you are guilty until you prove otherwise.
